    Miss Manhattan

Miss Manhattan truly captures the richness of diversity and the simultaneity of life happening in New York. The text is rich, tumbling, and layered, yet never chaotic as the sensations of people, cars, birds, flowers, and all forms of city life cascading around the speaker’s (and reader’s) attention. This unique collection cleverly displays the inherent resonance of life in the city, in a beautiful, joyful, and sometimes riotous, but always with a sense of life and creative force, not destruction or entropy. These poems live in the individual body, even as they describe an external and collective experience.

Reflections of Humanity: A Tapestry of Perceptions

This collection will take on different meanings at different points in time. Many of the key themes have multiple messages. This is also the case in many interpretations of the vocabulary. Everyone has an individual perception of what truth is. These works are representative of this writer’s understanding of that entity.

It is my hope that this collection will inspire the realization within each reader that the true wisdom in life is one’s ability to believe in oneself. Thus, will it become possible to accept responsibility for our own actions? Once this end is accomplished, we can, each in his own right, make beneficial changes. Many have had this same dream since the dawn of time. It is this writer’s most ardent hope that this work will find acceptance within the heart of each reader. A further hope is that these perceptions will serve as an inspiration to each to establish a positive sense of self and a more cohesive view of the people around you.

Try to set gender aside in these works. Wherever possible, substitute people and situations within your own life and the lives of the loved ones around you.

    Navigating the Quartz Forest

Each dreamlike lyric in Biman Roy’s Navigating the Quartz Forest is charmingly paired with a small handwritten note hastily jotted down on blue-lined notebook paper-artifacts from his daughter’s life outside the family home. “All through the evening, we keep talking nonessentials, / tiptoeing around secret tulips,” he says. These notes, like scraps of overheard conversations removed from their natural habitats, become the crystalline seeds of new poems. Side-by-side with each other, the poems act as translator for these somewhat oracular messages from an unknown world of teenage gossip and pop culture references, fitting the pieces together like a shattered mirror and filling in the jagged-edged gaps with the poet’s expansive imagination. In Navigating the Quartz Forest, Roy’s whimsical poems become a sparkling tribute from a father to his beloved daughter.

    The Nightmares of HIMM

The Nightmares of HIMM is formerly known as The Psych Ward. It tells stories of the dark and light of reality. The experience of the truth of how a poet live his life in fear most of his childhood life. The poems are the stories the madness and the mayhem within the mind of mine. His only comfort was writing to escape the reality of abuse, and these are the curious cases of the madman or is he. The poems are based on the nightmare of FD Ravenskraft’s sleepless night being afraid of the world. But he understands the true fear of society himself. The constant terror within the insomnia of this broken night after night he compose the horror of his sleepless experience and write them down to try to understand his critical thinking. His style of poetry is aspired and inspired by the writing of H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe and writings of Charles Baudelaire, Lord Byron, Keats and Shelley and Mary Shelley. In the beginning, that was creation. And at the end of the journey, is Ravenskraft.

Welcome to the horrors of HIMM!

    He is Madness and Mayhem!

    A Poet’s Diary

For Lisa, a diary always meant writing poems. Often set in worlds of hellscape, meadow or ocean, her first collection bathes the reader in darkness, sunlight and moonbeam. The reader will find themselves lost aboard a sinking ship, on a train barreling through mountain snow, or clinging to a towering cliff. Presented in nine books, this collection runs the gamut of human emotions, exposing the tenderness and naivety of youth, the infatuation and dismay of immature love, and the early realizations of finding your place in this world. It is for young souls struggling to find hope and for old souls ready to reminisce.

All About Life: A Black Man’s Journey

With an intensity of understanding and a straightforward wisdom, Johnny Albritton, Jr. writes poetry that is, indeed, All About Life.

In this, his debut collection of published verses, Mr. Albritton examines the spiritual and physical life of man, and how one deals with each from day to day. His poems burst forth with images about everyday life that range in theme from criticizing apathy to celebrating one’s newfound relationship with the Lord. It is not often readers of fine religious poetry get to absorb a man’s vision of the world that is not condescending but uplifting in its intent. Johnny Albritton, Jr. certainly achieves that, and much more.

The poet recognizes that he and his readers have to answer to God every day, but how to do that is the key. Are hearts opened in joyful song? Or are the lower depths of society, those that can only cause harm, sought out? In poems such as Job the Man” “Chasing After the Wind” and “What’s Going On? ” to name but a few, Mr. Albritton’s keen wit, sensitive lament, and defined optimism are clear. In others, such as “What Happened to Justice? ” and “A Prayer for Mankind” he continues to boldly clarify today’s state of affairs as he sees it, whether good or bad, right or wrong. Whatever your present state of mind, the poems in All About Life, by Johnny Albritton, Jr., have that unique ability to entertain inform and enlighten.

Johnny Albritton Jr, grew up in New Jersey, attended Lincoln Tech Trade School, and later served in the United States Navy. An athlete when younger, he earned a four year scholarship to Tennessee State University before enjoying his lifelong self-employed business of appliance refrigeration and air conditioning service. He also enjoys inventing and of course writing poetry from his home in Florida.

Evergreen Pines: Book of Religious Poetry

When I was pondering a name for this book, I heard a small voice saying to me, “Look at you. You are like an evergreen pine that has stood the test of times. It bends in the wind, bears the summer heat and the winter snow, laughs at the coolness of fall, and gets ready for the songbirds to nest in the spring.”

At that time, the name Evergreen Pines: Book of Religious Poetry was born.

Angel Cloud Poetry: The Esoterica of Beatific Poetry

Originally I was born in Dearborn Michigan, but somehow at the age of two, I found myself in Beeville, Texas where I was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. P.O. Carlson who I might add are two of the finest people ever. They gave me love and a wonderful Christian up-bringing. As I look back over the years gone by, I see their guiding ways that allowed me to learn a trade, raise my family and pursue a passion for writing poems and songs, singing and recording songs and forever giving praise to my Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST who truly made my life as it is today possible. My wife Linda and I want to thank all the good folks in Beeville that helped me along the way. My hope is that this story, poem and songs will give a sense of peace and hope to all that reads these words.

    Truly Pertinent Questions

Author of three anthologies, In My Heart…On My Mind, The Root of My Affection, and Truly Pertinent Questions, Wayne D. Russell is an educator, researcher, poet, songwriter, and producer. He is known as pragmatist, his brusque yet seductive approach to writing challenges the reader to confront the esoteric.

Russell describes his poetry as political, provocative, and unapologetically blunt, taking the mundane and making it sublime. His writing assuages the readers to see the elegance in simplicity and to encourages them to confront the unknown.

This author invites the reader on a random walk through their constructed realities and further challenges them to explore its nebulous boundaries. He forces them to grapple with their own imagining; it is this quasi-spiritual exploration that gives credence to his body of work.

Wayne D. Russell is a Mathematics lecturer and researcher at Medgar Evers College, The City University of New York. He has written and presented academic papers, nationally and internationally, bringing innovation to Mathematics learning.

Russell is also the Chief Executive Officer of EduSols LLC, a New York based small business research entity. He is the Executive Director and principal songwriter of LyricSurge Records, a small independent recording label operating out of New York and Ft. Lauderdale.

    A Conceptual Circus

    TRANSFIGURATION I would expect nothing less. Carry your sword, my prophetess. Obstinate contumacy training. Find the objective that is more draining. More strenuous tasks will make you grow. Pain upon you I bestow. I’ll take it all and nothing less. I claim it back; I repossess. Tip the scale; Turn it over. Mark the unused; What’s leftover. The main part no longer exists; Despite the reduction, it persists. Continued movement; A quest for traction. An opposite and negative reaction. Hex induced metamorphosis; Reoccur once again for us. Physically and internally hanging. The process of rearranging. The alteration was so fitting. Now they’re pausing; They’re intermitting. In reaffirming the causation; Keep kempt, and maintain your original explanation. Wear our serpent prophetess; Prior to you was profitless. The soil was sown with no reaping. Tear our hearts out for your keeping. Beyond the boundaries of what is permitted. Reward me for the sins I’ve committed. My acts were bold; Caress my flesh. I give it all and nothing less. The facsimile will shudder. Express what it is I utter. Amidst psychos and others. Among psychos and others. Live with vigor; Efficiently transfigure. Disfigure; Change his figure. Make it so; Mark the torso. Undergo; Nock the torso. Let it grow; Open the torso. Let him know; Carve the torso. Mark the torso. Undergo; Nock the torso. Let it grow; Open the torso. Let him know;

Letters Of Life: Whispers, Secrets, & Lies

Letters of Life is a collection of perceptive, achingly honest poems that offer a decisive view which makes no apologies. These verses attempt to simplify rather than complicate the common ills which plague humanity. Often providing insight into life’s often messy entanglements.

These poems are divided into three separate sections. In “Whispers” we examine those things that people speak softly about under breath. The poems in “Secrets” reflect a pool of applied wisdom and answers to personal questions. And “Lies” deals with rumors, half-truths, and false impressions. Tying all the poems together is an undercurrent of truth.

“For in truth, there is love, in love, there is understanding. In understanding, there is forgiveness.”

In this stunning collection, whispers will cease; secrets will be revealed; and lies will manifest-but the truth will remain evident throughout.

Ron’s Ramblings: Characters, Critters and Us Cantankerous Rednecks

Big Sky Country is one of the many nicknames for the state of Montana, the place the author calls home. While Montana is a diverse state in people and in geography, north-eastern Montana is characterized by soft rolling hills and sharp coulees; scrub grass, sage brush and wild flowers cover the prairie lands and tall cottonwood, ash and willow trees shade the waterways, all outlined against skies a magnificent shade of blue which make this countryside unforgettable and unique. The people that have and still do call this place home are just as unforgettable and unique as the skies.

This is a collection of stories and tales, mostly centered around the rural area of north-eastern Montana; some are from the authors own experience, including family and local history, as well as stories of wildlife, hunting and farming, and some belong to others who have been kind enough to share their own histories and recollections.

    Blackout and Poetry

I was born in a Harlem Hospital raised in Hell’s Kitchen. I ran the streets of Harlem New York, and my public school was in Harlem, also in Hell’s Kitchen. Thanks to my sister for giving me the inspiration to write my story. I began writing poetry in 1995 and life was hard, looking back; God has blessed me, and I have seen a lot in my lifetime. I have tried to better my life and tried helping others on the way. I went to Manhattan Bible Institute of New York for about a year. I graduated 1987 as an Evangelist then I moved to Hudson, New York. I joined State Street A.M.E. Zion Church and under the leadership of my Pastor, for about 3 years of studying, I had to travel from Hudson to New York and to other churches for my class. I moved to Poughkeepsie, NY and I joined Smith Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion church, and I was ordain on 6-13-98 under the leadership of my pastor, I learned a lot. I have always dreamed of becoming a writer. This is the first book and poetry and I pray it won’t be my last. May God bless you and may it bring you hope.

    Can You Handle Real Talk

Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Fletcher, a native of the Bronx, New York, is the author of over ten published books of spiritual and inspirational poetry.

Before his retirement in 2015, he spent over 30 years working as an Investigator for The City of New York and the County of Westchester.

Inspired by his relationship with God, Ronnie Fletcher’s books feature poems that will cause readers to reflect on life.  As God speaks with him, he writes what he hears.  He is also inspired by messages he hears while attending church services and listening to tele-evangelists.

Ronnie Fletcher’s poetry contains spiritual and heartfelt words that will lift your spirit and cause you to reflect.  His books appeal to readers because every page is filled with thoughts that we experience every day.  Some experiences are dearly seen; while some are only seen when they are brought to one’s attention.  These books also remind readers that there is a higher power.

Ronnie Fletcher’s passion is to inspire others to realize how blessed we all are by waking up every morning.  His mission is to write poems that encourage us to communicate with each other; poems that will remind us to give thanks to the One who gives us our daily blessings.
