    Courage and Devotion

This battle flag was given to the battery just before the Battle of Shiloh. I wrote this book with the purpose of having the historical narrative separate from stories of the men. If the reader wants to know about an individual, there are sections within the chapters about the officers and enlisted men. It is the intention of this book to describe the battery’s place in the large scheme of things. On the maps in this book are marks that show the location of the battery at each battle. In each chapter, after the narrative, there are descriptions of the officers and what they were doing, followed by information about the enlisted men. At the end of the book, there are several appendices that present lists of men for various times. The names are listed chronologically first and then alphabetically.

    Suspicion

When Ivan’s Jewish parents smuggle him out of Germany during World War II, they leave him a letter with two pieces of advice: work hard, and be wary of those offering help. Taking this counsel to heart, Ivan studies diligently and becomes an internationally recognized neuroscientist. He marries and has a son, but his intrinsic distrust of others pushes his family away.

When the US government offers him a top-secret assignment working with German and Russian scientists in Iran to develop a new weaponized drug—along with a significant pay raise—Ivan jumps at the opportunity. Soon, however, his suspicious nature forces him to question the work’s real purpose. He discovers the German-Russian team are creating a weapon of mass destruction, and his suspicions are confirmed: the CIA didn’t plant him as a scientist but as a spy.

Meanwhile, Ivan’s son, Michael, has become a member of a US Special Operations team. Michael hasn’t spoken to his estranged father in years, and he never expects them to meet again. When they do, the circumstances will demand that they rediscover their ability to trust in each other. Their lives may depend on it.

    W. Fred Bowen is a retired educator who lives part-time in Canada and Switzerland. He has been fascinated by the artifacts left behind by these people and curious about how they were able to exist in a harsh and difficult world. Children Do Come With A Manual

We wrote this book as a companion to our book on parenting to; encourage parents and potential parents to daily use the Bible as a manual for the guidance and wisdom required in raising a child into a follower of Christ Jesus and a productive successful adult, as well as our manual for living a full, joyful and productive life while here on this earth in preparation for an eternal life with Him after his return.

A friend of mine told me that in his opinion the Bible is; Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth, that has stuck in my mind, and I like that prospective even more as I unpack all of the information the scriptures reveal to me.

Unlike most manuals this one tells us how it all started, what the intent was, what happened to change things from the initial intent, our history of rebellion, and what will have to be done to restore both us and this earth to its intended state and purpose.

Like most manuals it is seldom opened until a problem arises and malfunctions occur. Th is manual is most useful when read on a daily basis and in preparation for all we plan to do instead of after we have done it. As a manual – the Bible is filled with promises from our Creator, guidelines, warnings, and examples to help us become the people we were created to be, it overflows with a historical review of His love, goodness, mercy, sacrifices and forgiveness as well as proofs of his desire to enjoy life long fellowship with us.

This manual is very comprehensive as it covers everything from what to eat to maximize our earthly body function, the importance of both work and rest, the value of a godly woman and the expected behavior of a godly man, what to look for in a mate and what to avoid, who to trust and how to know if you are being deceived. This manual tells us what is expected of us and what we can expect from our creator. I would encourage and challenge everyone to exhaustively explore all that the Bible has to offer.

Born and raised in a small town in California, after high school, John “Teach” Girard joined the United States Air Force in 1964. While serving in the USAF, Girard acquired a blood-clotting disease called thrombophlebitis in which the blood clotted and the veins in his ankle were collapsing, resulting in no circulation to the feet. In 1976, both feet were amputated below his knees. After a medical retirement from the USAF, he went on to college at California State University, Sacramento and University of Oregon to complete his teaching certificate. With the help of his friends, he created unique knee controls on his Harley Davidson with a sidecar so he could continue his love for motorcycle riding. “Teach” taught arts and crafts in several school districts in Oregon. Now he is living in the Eugene, Oregon area with his family where he continues to illustrate transportation-related subjects, such as hot rods, trucks and motorcycles. His motto, “defeeted but not defeated” is tattooed on his arm. The Helpmate

This is a well-orchestrated prose-work, fiction. Although events in the narratives are mirrored to reflect real life occurrences. It is a tragic story. A tale of struggles, hardship, fortune, survival and death. The Book has fifteen chapters in total running into 108 pages with intriguing starting ending narratives which qualifies the story as comical tragedy.

It touches on some cultural demeanors of people from certain tribes in Africa (Nigeria as a focus) where extra-marital affair is silently prevalent despite legality to engage in polygamy. The book: Helpmate muckrakes the evil of broken-homes and parental negligence on young adults. The strenuous roles of fending for self as a child and taking up the responsibility of an adult in the process of survival is pivotal incident within the pages.

Man’s love for beast is not always without the influence of what they could produce. This statement is justified by the roles the Dog: ‘Riro’ plays on Dara’s path to fulfillment. These unique roles have usually been sanctioned to be the reason why many pet-owners (especially in Africa) own their Dogs and cater for them and not really because of unaligning love for these animals. The story justifies this more with the dramatic risk of life efforts ‘Riro’ (the Dog) had to make to preserve Dara’s life whle the Dog owner-Dara could not be said to attempt similar efforts to the turn of substituting his own life to rescue the Dog when her own (the Dog’s) critical situation beckoned.

We dream, we hope, we expect with longings in life, but we do not know what tomorrow holds. This is explained by the unexpected and sudden end of Riro. For this sudden and unexpected end of Dara’s lover bring him back to a zero level of fulfillment, bruising his desires like the impact of the sun upon a fallen leave…

INHALE is now presented in two volumes: INHALE: The Fresh Meadows of a Godly Perspective-It’s Poetry!; and INHALE: The Fresh Meadows of a Godly Perspective- It’s Revelational! Ms. Alexander speaks of her poetic writings in this first volume as reflections of that which reside in the deep reaches of her being regarding the lover of her soul and her great indebtedness to Him.

In Christendom, the air [the Word] of our intake is more valuable than can be fully expressed, for its importance drives both our physical and spiritual existence. The intake of God’s Word is the breath of spiritual life that fuels our living. By it, we take in Jesus.

The INHALE compilations are designed and given by God to reflect the many facets of that inhale—what we take in, what it is designed to accomplish and to fortify in us, and what should come out of us as a result of its life-sustaining provision. May you soak up Jesus with every page. My prayerful desire is to inspire, edify, and encourage. Above all, I desire to drive you, to pull you into a greater depth of desire for my Jesus that you inhale deeply and in all that you get, get God.

Qureshi Manual of Scientific Manuscript Writing for Medical Journals

Nine out of every ten medical students, residents, and fellows attempt to write a manuscript during their training. Yet, after finishing the training only 1 or 2 would continue to write scientific manuscripts due to the effort involved in preparing a manuscript. Most medical students, residents, fellows, and even junior faculty consider writing a scientific manuscript harder than working grueling hours on the clinical service. The manual of scientific manuscript writing was developed to guide for medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty by providing a step by step pathway for successful preparation of a manuscript. The manual is expected to reduce the usual 3 and 6 months (at times frustrating) effort to a 1 to 2 week streamlined process to complete a manuscript.

His Grace in the Midst of Tragedy

At this very moment you are not only holding a book; you are holding the testimony of my life and my struggle with schizophrenia.

If you should decide to read it you will take a journey through a horrific tragedy through the eyes and mind of a paranoid psychotic man, years of hospitalization; psychotropic medications with side effects that sometimes seemed worse than the schizophrenia, reconstructive surgeries and a trial that held my freedom in the balance.

You’ll read of the years of continued drug and alcohol abuse, the self defeating sabotaging of good things in my life, even when I was not aware of how I was destroying any hope of recovery. To be perfectly honest; I did not know if I wanted recovery. All I could feel was guilt and shame.

Then it happened; a supernatural experience with the Lord of all the earth.  at night I received my salvation. Now I had hope! My life has not been the same since that night. Yes, there was still ups and downs and four more years of hospitalization, but this time it was different; I had a whole new outlook.

Today I am a totally free man and it is all because of Jesus.

If you decide to read this book I hope you will not be disappointed.

    Wrinkles

I think it was Maxim Gorky (lower depths) who once said that laughter not only opens the mouth to laugh but also opens the mind to thought.

In this book, there are many poems that give that food for thought, for consideration and debate, but I have added a humorous bent on much of the material, for as in my case at least, humour is a good, strong tool in dealing in many cases of diversity.

As for the rest of the book, well, it’s a mixture really with funny poems, well, just for a sake of a laugh.

    TRACKS

America – land of opportunity – nation of immigrants.

There is a special magic to America. It comes from the diversity of its people.

Like the characters in Tracks they come from all over – places like Guadalajara, Chapala, Chihuahua and Zacatecas, Mexico, Kirkaldy, Scotland, Barnmeen, Ireland, Copenhagen, Denmark, disputed territory in the shadow of Mt. Ararat in the Caucasus Mountain Range, Bremerhaven, Germany, and Padua, Italy.

In 1919, when young Pedro Figueroa and Antonio Flores were refused seats to a travelling Shakespearian and Broadway show on a Saturday night in a saloon in Socorro, New Mexico, the lead actor stopped the show and took them aside. He offered these words of encouragement:

“You boys got to do the same things my folks did. Work hard. Raise a family. Make sure your kids get to school. Your day will come. This is a great country. Look, we got rid of slavery. Things get better all the time. Lives are lived in stages. Look at the caterpillar, crawling about, making little tracks

on the ground, and then it’s into a cocoon, and before long, it’s flying about, a butterfly.”

Tracks is a testament to the spirit of immigrants who come to America and make it a better place.

    2025

A surprise attack launched from the International Space Station will result in 95% of the urban and suburban U.S. population dying within two weeks due to starvation, violence, and the effects of radiation. There will be no time for a retaliatory strike as strategic assets are destroyed. Our cities will become jungles ruled for a short time by gangs that carve out their territory, seeking food, water, plunder, and rape. An EMP attack will immediately magnetize all internal combustion engines; airplanes will fall from the skies; all unprotected vehicles will immediately crash due to loss of control. Survivors will wait in vain for a return to normalcy. China invades the U.S. while Russia invades Europe. As Albert Einstein once remarked, “I do not know with what weapons World War III will be fought, but I am confident that World War IV will be fought with sticks and rocks.” This is a story of survival.

    Divided We Fall

What will the American people do when tyranny and political correctness become the law of the land? Where are the George Washingtons and Benjamin Franklins that we need today? Liberal leftist educators deliberately ignore the tyranny of the increasingly socialist movement of government under the guise of political correctness. What freedoms are we willing to surrender? Who of our youth are willing to serve in the armed forces?

Politicians continue to consolidate political power in their hands under the banner of political correctness and socialism, of spreading the wealth for everyone. The tyranny of socialism is being whitewashed by liberal educators who ignore the loss of freedoms it requires. The armed forces are controlled by the politicians which can become tools of repression. Will individual patriots rise to protect the Constitution as written by the Founding Fathers? Where are the George Washingtons and Benjamin Franklins of today?

As the tyranny of political correctness grows to become the law of the land at the expense of individual thought, liberty, and justice, who will abide by it? Who will resist it? As politicians concentrate political power in their own hands, disarming the American people to deny them the means of physical resistance, where will the armed forces, allegedly under civilian control and commanded by the President, stand? What price are we, as individuals, willing to pay for our God-given freedoms?

    Act of God

So often we ask, “Where is God?”

In tragedies like cancer, life long disabilities, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, wild fires, famines, earthquakes, and pandemics of late – it is so painfully human to cry out from the darkness with a desperate, yearning soul for an answer to this dire question. In our suffering, it is easy to forget just where He was over 2,000 years ago, and that is on a bludgeoned and bloodied cross where He absolved the sins of the world in His own flesh, mind, and spirit. You see, of all religions, Christianity is unique. We do not presume that we go to Heaven because we have been good. As any faithful student of proper doctrine knows, we go to Heaven – because Christ has been good. And that is the most significant and paramount act of God that can sustain us in the bleakest, most overwhelming times. So the real question should be…will we let it?

In this collection, you will be taken into the depths of human suffering through autobiographical short stories and poetic verses. But from that suffering, you will see the glorious ascension into victory that can only be afforded through this: The unyielding truth, yet amazing grace, of Jesus Christ.

Set in a village in the Ikwerre tribe of southern Nigeria, the story opens with the roaring rage of the villagers, as they struggle to extricate themselves from the colonial stranglehold that had suddenly happened upon them. Initially unaware of the white man’s intentions for coming to their village, the villagers opened their arms to the visitor. But when they realize why he had come, their suspicions set in, their anger wells up, and they rise up in revolt, only to be calmed down by their revered, open-minded Chief. However, the white man, a Baptist missionary, has other plans. He decides to approach the uncooperative villagers with caution. In the end, the villagers succumb to his ploy by sending their children en-masse to the white man’s newly-built school. Not long after the school opened, a civil war breaks out in Nigeria, severely derailing the progress the village had made in educating its children.

Tempers flare and heartfelt opinions are shared as the Council delves into how Modern Man originally arrived on planet Earth, what we have and have not achieved, the Celestials’ ongoing manipulation of us, and whether or not earth humans are, in fact, worth saving.

Ending Eden answers questions you never knew you had; exposes centuries of institutionalized misinformation; makes sense out of common nonsense; explains the heretofore inexplicable; and casts a glaring light upon the truth of who we really are.

Packed with over 100 colorful photographs and undeniable facts, this book will make you believe in our Celestial ancestors…no matter how skeptical you’ve been in the past.

What happened to those childhood dreams?

In DREAMING WITH YOUR EYES WIDE OPEN, Eleanor Graves challenges you to realize that everyone has at least one dream. We are not taught how to make that dream become reality. Through seven, simple, biblically-based principles, the reader learns how to make their dreams come true. These principles and resulting processes are universal and practical. They are: perception, purpose, partnership, possession, perseverance, positive spirit and power beyond yourself.

Infused throughout are enriching quotations and affirmations. This book is clear, concise and easy to read. You will be informed, illumined and inspired.

    Like a Tree Planted

Most Christians have had periods when they felt alienated from God. Circumstances and life situations propelled them into seeming darkness and despair. In such times Satan takes advantage of the Christian’s confusion and ignorance to launch a subtle attack. This book describes such a period in the author’s life, but focuses on God’s deliverance from the darkness via a powerful revelation – the revelation of the tree.

Jannah Mitchell was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Early education was in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jannah graduated with a B.A. in Journalism and Criminal Justice from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. She later completed her MEd at the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MPA at Roosevelt University in Chicago. Jannah reconnected with her childhood religious roots at Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park, Illinois in 2000. She graduated from the Living Word School of Ministry in June 2002. Jannah has served with missions’ teams in Bogata and Cali, Colombia, S.A.; Hyderabad, India; Panama; and Haiti. Jannah has a heart for new Christians and any Christian who is struggling. She hopes that her works will speak to the commonality of obstacles confronted when Christians are moving from darkness into the Kingdom of God. Hopefully this book and her other works will point the way to victory through spiritual development and renewal of the mind.
