“Love is more than a feeling,
The beat of a tremulous heart.
An ephemeral taste at the table,
A touch of a cheek as we part.
The kiss in the dark we desire,
A strand brushed away from one’s eyes.
Caresses remembered forever,
An embrace we decry ‘cause we’re shy.
A polka-dot dress on a maiden,
Her smile when she bids us goodbye.
Like people we cherished forever,
A life we miss so we cry.”

The author’s message to his readers:
No poet was I and my inkwell dry,
Until inspired by the Spirit’s grace.
Now from ‘Desert’ to ‘Love,’
And prompts from above,
I even explore the mystery of space.
Time and again He moves me to pen,
About God and His relation to men.
Visiting places long out of mind,
On a journey with joy at its end.

Pen in the Spirit – One More Time
is the third book in The Pen in the Spirit series.
Characterized as a love story
by a reader of the first book;
a homilist subsequently opined the ones who come
to know God best are mystics and poets.
I hope you will find both still to be true.
“Pen in the Spirit – One More Time” is a book of over 100 poems authored by a former corporate and media executive. The third in The Pen in the Spirit series is primarily devoted to spiritual themes like the other two. Late to the author’s pen, he began writing poetry in his eighties and has written nearly 600 poems. Many of the rhymes are reflective of his own personal journey.
In summary, the book is more than just a poetry collection; it serves as a spiritual companion for individuals seeking to deepen their faith and connection with the divine. Michael P. Mallardi’s thoughtful reflections, derived from rich personal experiences, create a meaningful dialogue between the reader and the spiritual dimensions of life.
