Reflecting On The Word Of The Lord
$3.99We Christians live in a rushed and hurried culture which our churches have accepted without thinking through the consequences. It seems that we have allowed ourselves to equate busyness with spirituality and bible study with the loudest opinion in the room.
Reflecting attempts to call us back to a matured time in Christian history when congregants did not read the Bible speedily. One of my high school English teachers used to warn us that just vocalizing words aloud was different than truly reading. This book calls us to read the Scripture, reread the Scripture, think about what we have read, and to meditate on the concepts of a passage following them throughout Scripture. By this means, we should be able to grasp a more complete understanding of the ideas the verses have presented to us.
Moreover, a slower reading and a rereading allows time for the Holy Spirit to speak to us. Often, I hear someone express that as often as they have read a certain passage of Scripture, they did not gain the newest understanding from their latest reading. Why is that?
It is because we have just called words without reflecting on them. Reflecting and meditating are old ways of studying the Word of God. You will be richly blessed by beginning and maintaining the practice. It is indeed food for the hungry Christian’s soul.

Reflections III: The Magic Beyond the Pain: The Journey, My Impact, Their Impact
$3.99 – $19.99Price range: $3.99 through $19.99This book reflects life-each and every one of us in our journeys as all of us inevitably end in the same place. It is our journeys, individually and those we share time and space with, along with the many souls on four legs that define the happiness inside. It is also imperative that we find ways to help the world we live in-for those many starfish that ended on the beach, and for each of those starfish that we can throw back in the water,-well, one more life we have saved. Inevitably, it is the lives we save that actually save us-aren’t they? They fill our souls with energy with that special feeling that we mean something that we actually are all connected but to live life with purpose-well that is ultimately the most fulfilling of all important feelings. To each of you I hope you fill those moments in the simplest of ways-giving back, and pay forward to become the power and energy that will save us all.

Reflections of Humanity: A Tapestry of Perceptions
$3.99 – $8.99Price range: $3.99 through $8.99This collection will take on different meanings at different points in time. Many of the key themes have multiple messages. This is also the case in many interpretations of the vocabulary. Everyone has an individual perception of what truth is. These works are representative of this writer’s understanding of that entity.
It is my hope that this collection will inspire the realization within each reader that the true wisdom in life is one’s ability to believe in oneself. Thus, will it become possible to accept responsibility for our own actions? Once this end is accomplished, we can, each in his own right, make beneficial changes. Many have had this same dream since the dawn of time. It is this writer’s most ardent hope that this work will find acceptance within the heart of each reader. A further hope is that these perceptions will serve as an inspiration to each to establish a positive sense of self and a more cohesive view of the people around you.
Try to set gender aside in these works. Wherever possible, substitute people and situations within your own life and the lives of the loved ones around you.

Remembering ZEOLA
$3.99 – $9.99Price range: $3.99 through $9.99The stories Zeola told about herself show aspects of her character that was budding at age four and five, for example learning to clean and care for her home and to beautify it. After marriage, she expressed her love for husband and children as she labored daily to take care of them. Preparing three meals daily, washing and cleaning as well as teaching and training her children to work and care for the home are all expressions of her love without using words. She loved her home and cultivated many flowers and trees on the outside. She worked hard to clean and beautify the home on the inside too. For example, she made curtains for the windows and doilies for many tabletops, cushions for chairs and tablecloths for tables. She and Brenda partnered to make quilts and bedspreads for the beds. The church and community were very important to her, and she gave herself to teaching children in Sunday School classes. She loved to sing and worked with the children’s choir at church for many years. Her devotion to Jesus Christ was shown in the zeal with which she took on tasks such as tending to the sick about her and helping those who were in some kind of need. Many of the examples I recount bring to light her service to others. She persisted in the face of multiple trials and afflictions; always getting up and trying again without giving up under their weight. When I began to think about her legacy, I rejoice as I look back over her life and realize that she developed enduring faith and Christian character through all of these things. She chose not to grow bitter because of them, but to submit to God’s will and to press toward victory that would someday be hers.

Resurrection?: Fact or Fiction? A Trial Lawyer Examines The Evidence
$3.99 – $13.99Price range: $3.99 through $13.99The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are the central facts undergirding Christian faith and life. Joe Otto brings to bear his legal training in a succinct and masterful summary of the Biblical and historical evidence for the reality of these events and compellingly urges their significance for us today. This little book will both greatly encourage Christian disciples and challenge those who do not believe, are skeptics, or simply have questions, to take the step for faith. I especially liked the compendium of references to the incredibly intricate way God’s design is displayed in the small details of the natural world.

Return to Vietnam, The Memories: Facing my Demons and Coming to Terms With Them
$10.99 – $17.99Price range: $10.99 through $17.99When I was waiting to board the aircraft in Saigon in July 1968, following my 13-month tour of Vietnam, the last thing I would have expected was to come back to Vietnam. Not until forty-five years after the Vietnam War ended, I was dealing with nightmares, and was diagnosed with PTSD. I was encouraged by my counselor and others to write about my experiences from Vietnam. That resulted in my first book, You Are Never Alone. I started to have a better handle on my daily images, nightly dreams, and nightmares. It was about that time I began thinking about the possibility of returning to Vietnam to face my demons.
This book, “Return to Vietnam-The Memories,” Began a trip to face my demons. It was more than I expected, by meeting a VC soldier during peacetime and making friends with several gracious Vietnamese people. A cruise down the Mekong River brought memories of crossing the river during convoys. My main goal of the trip was to find the orphanage in MyTho where during a VC attack a couple of kids were killed. Having a knowledgeable tour guide that followed many leads to locate our objective worked endlessly. We saw where the orphanage was, which now was replaced with a school, but finding the last of the living nuns that worked at the orphanage in 1967 when the VC attacked and interacting with someone who was virtually there and remembered that day was overwhelming. Sister Renee and I visited parts for three days. This book covers the details of this fantastic trip and the results it had on me.

Rocks, Roots and Rattlesnakes (Revised Edition): A Geologist’s Journal: 150 Days of Discovery on the Appalachian Trail
$3.99 – $23.99Price range: $3.99 through $23.99Rocks, Roots and Rattlesnakes is the captivating story of my five-month 2020 journey hiking the Appalachian Trail, as told from a geologist’s perspective. It is written as a series of daily logs originally transcribed from my daily journals, then embellished with additional details resulting from further recollection and research. All of the stories are true, and many contain elements of human interest relating to the many fascinating hikers I met on my adventure. Perhaps the most enjoyable aspect of doing such a trek is encountering so many interesting people along the way. My goal in assembling this book was to provide entertainment and information for two main audiences First, for those who have hiked the trail, I included stories relating to places and things all of us have seen, along with frequent observations about those mysterious rocks beneath our feet. For those new to the trail, or who have never hiked long distances, this is a glimpse into the wonders and excitement out there to be discovered, as told by just one of the many thousands of past thru-hikers. The book contains three parts with 26 chapters and reads like a journal log, capturing my challenges and experiences each day on the trail. In addition to the 240 pages of text, there are over 100 beautiful color photos, 6 figures and 6 charts. Hopefully you will find this book both informative and entertaining, as you read and enjoy my tales of 150 days of discovery on the Appalachian Trail!

Ron’s Ramblings: Characters, Critters and Us Cantankerous Rednecks
$5.99 – $19.99Price range: $5.99 through $19.99Big Sky Country is one of the many nicknames for the state of Montana, the place the author calls home. While Montana is a diverse state in people and in geography, north-eastern Montana is characterized by soft rolling hills and sharp coulees; scrub grass, sage brush and wild flowers cover the prairie lands and tall cottonwood, ash and willow trees shade the waterways, all outlined against skies a magnificent shade of blue which make this countryside unforgettable and unique. The people that have and still do call this place home are just as unforgettable and unique as the skies.
This is a collection of stories and tales, mostly centered around the rural area of north-eastern Montana; some are from the authors own experience, including family and local history, as well as stories of wildlife, hunting and farming, and some belong to others who have been kind enough to share their own histories and recollections.

While searching for answers, he stumbles upon a little white chicken who informs him that he has the solution. The chicken takes the bells to Santa and tries to convince Santa that the bells will work for him. Santa is not convinced until the chicken puts the bells on himself, and in a blink of an eye, the chicken grows to be ten feet tall. Sharecropper to Entrepreneur to Pastor
$3.99 – $14.99Price range: $3.99 through $14.99There’s an old question about whether a person will be a thermometer or a thermostat in life. A thermometer merely registers the temperature of the surroundings, but a thermostat actually controls the temperature. This inspiring story demonstrates how during the major junctures in his life, John Womack has and continues to be a thermostat.
Growing up in a Virginia sharecropping family in the midst of pernicious racism and economic deprivation, Womack was able to learn how to overcome these obstacles without losing his belief that human beings are basically good and will do right when given the opportunity. Throughout his life, he combined his creative vision not only with the necessary business acumen, but also with moral and ethical responsibility in spite of an environment of greed, egotism, and selfishness. Regardless of his position–whether in the navy or as an entrepreneur, husband, father, student, pastor, board member, and friend–Womack has acquitted himself with a spiritual consciousness that girded him with the capability to overcome the barriers to progress and prosperity.
He never abandoned his fundamentally Christian orientation amid a variety of temptations.
Remaining humble through all these endeavors, Womack longs to share his life work with today’s youth, young adults, and others. He yearns to encourage them to believe–despite surrounding hardships and institutional barriers–that they can transcend their existential circumstances and make something out of their lives. By sharing his life story, Womack hopes to encourage others to confront today’s challenges with wisdom, faith, hope, and love. Certainly, the Rev. Dr. John Womack–sharecropper, veteran, entrepreneur, husband, father of three, pastor, and author–exemplifies this possibility and personifies this truth.

Speedbumps in the Middle of the Sea
$3.99 – $19.99Price range: $3.99 through $19.99The author was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. He was very mischievous, so he was sent to a boarding school in England. Since he did not participate in sports, he did all his homework (Prep, as they called it) during sports hour. As a result, he would wash dishes after evening meals, and all three Sunday meals, to earn extra money. With the extra money, he would buy candy, and records (45 RPM in those days). He would then make a recording of these songs on a cassette tape and send the tape back home to his sister. Since, in those days, Kenya was not yet up-to-date on modern technology, the songs on the charts were not quite caught up. So my sister would get songs that they had not heard on the radio yet!
From his high school, he went to University in USA (Atlanta) to study Business Administration. He could not get his rights to stay in USA, so he had to return back to Kenya. Meanwhile his parents had emigrated to England, so the author spent time with his grandparents, uncles and aunts. After a long stay in Kenya, (20 years), his sister sponsored him to come to Canada.
This book, Speedbumps in the Middle of the Sea, is all about his adventures from High school to present day. With a title like this, it promises to be hilarious. Enjoy!
