Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine I’d be writing this to you, but here goes. I always assumed someone else would write about the author, but this time I decided to do it myself. I’m not much of a reader, mostly for research, but I love to write, poetry, newspaper articles, short stories, and that’s what sort of got this project started. More years ago than I’d like to admit my mom, knowing I like to write, sent me a magazine she subscribed to with a note on the front to look on a certain page where I found a full page describing an amateur writing contest they have every year. It’s been so long ago that I don’t remember what the prize amount was, but it was five figures I do remember that and it could only be up to 25,000 words, I think. Gee, I thought that was an awful lot of words. Had no idea what I might write about, but agreed I’d give it some thought.
Then one day on the USPS rural one hundred and nine miles mail route I used to run an incident that happened to one of the girls in our high school years ago crossed my mind. I was never sure how the unfortunate situation was handled, but while I drove the rest of the route I began to imagine what I’d would do if I was in the same situation. That was the beginning of my short story. I’d think of something out on one of those lonely roads, like it and couldn’t wait until I could get home and put it on paper. When I finished that idea the story contained too many words to enter their contest.
And besides that it didn’t feel finished to me anyway. That’s when my vivid imagination really began to work overtime. As it happened at the time I was going through a divorce and had an abundance of time on my hands, so just let my mind wander. Where would the story go from there? And why? What motivation would that girl have? Really! But fate had in for her something she, like me, could never have imagined. I hope you like what she did, experienced, learned and enjoyed along the way. I think she did!

This book contains the letters of my son wrote to me and my family while he was in prison.
He was out of state on a fishing trip when a friend broke into his house and set up a meth lab. When he returned home and started cooking his friend heard a loud bang on the door with a loud voice shouting. “This is the police, open the door!” He opened the door and they shouted, “Stand back! We need to search your house!”
The door to the back bedroom was locked. They cut the lock and found several fans running. All evidence was gone, but the smell was still there. My son was arrested and taken to jail. I saw his picture and the story on the evening news. I went to his house the next morning and police were everywhere. I ask, “What is going on?” He answered, “We found a meth lab in the bedroom.” I said, “Why was my son arrested. He didn’t do it, he was out of state for weeks, fishing!”
The police wanted my son to narc for them. If he didn’t, they wouldn’t take him to court. He narced for two years. Almost got killed and spent lots of money trying to make a drug bust. He did not make a bust.
We had to hire a lawyer and got on court. When the judge ask how do you plead. My son answered, “Your honor, I’m not going to plead guilty to something that I did not do, nor knew nothing about.” I am guilty of trying to help the guy after his family kicked him out. I let him spend a few night at my house while I was on my trip.
He was sentenced for 10 years for maintaining a drug house. He was sent to prison. He was put on work release. He was a master of electrion so started making good money. He has his own apartment at the prison. He said it wasn’t so bad, just missing family and friends and was the worst punishment. He saved enough money to buy a trucking company while working after he was released. He served 2 and a half years of the 10. When he got out, he said, “Thank you God! If I haven’t went to prison, I would never have saved enough money to buy my own business.
He wrote me every day for those 2 and a half years. I love him so! That’s why I’m sharing this story and his letters.

LORI: Traveling Cat Series Book IX

The U-boat had made a dive into the depths of the channel, the Destroyer’s sonar then picked up a second object that apparently traded shots with the U-boat. The U-boat was destroyed, then the Destroyer’s sonar picked up the second object’s exit of the area at what the Captain had lodged as an impossible speed. Subsequently, the U.S. Navy sent in a small sub to investigate the British Captain’s claim. The U.S. sub was never heard from again. When the U.S. entered the war, the U.S. and the British agreed to build a secret Navy base on Andros Island, close to the sight where both incidences took place. Whatever was down in the channel hampered their completion of the base. On December 5th, 1945, five TBM Avenger torpedo bombers took off from a Naval Air Station in Fort Lauderdale Florida, the bombers were to secretly bomb the TOTO channel. The bombers after their first run over the channel, then radioed that they had lost all Navigation and we’re having electrical problems. The Navy sent out another plane to assist. All six planes were never heard from again. Two weeks later the U.S. dropped a Salted bomb over the TOTO channel. In 1951 a group of campers reported witnessing an air crash near the Carlsbad Caverns. The U.S. Government had their first ever living proof of Aliens, the recover craft had one injured alien aboard. Over thirty years passed, the U.S. and the British had built their secretive Navy base on Andros. They had located what they believe a space vehicle on the bottom of the channel. After several setbacks including loss of men and equipment, the Navy hires Jim’s Group to bring up the object.
