Disillusioned: A Journey from Certainty to Faith

    Price range: $3.99 through $12.99

Disillusioned is a memoir, a spiritual how-not-to, and a revelation of hope for experiencing God and living the message of Jesus in a bold new way. In this candid and moving story, former mega-church pastor Dan Cox shares how, after a lifetime of Christianity, he watched his long-held belief systems go up in smoke. And how, like burning a field for new growth, his disillusionment allowed him to grow spiritually in ways his old faith never allowed.

Cox had erected a perfect Christian framework around his life: Overseas mission work. Pastoring a fledgling church into a 6500-member church. Building a family. But even as he seemed to have all the answers, Cox became filled with doubts about his ministry and his marriage, and deeply depressed. Facing tremendous trials and feeling a disconnect between his theology and his experience, he prayed fervently. Yet God seemed absent. Eventually, all his certainties-about marriage, prayer, the Bible, and even salvation-lay in ashes at his feet. So he had to start over again. And on that seared ground, God and his grace met him, and he began to radically reconstruct his life-this time supported by true faith.

Disillusioned is an honest exploration of what happens when the answers you’ve grown up with-and doled out to everyone else-don’t make sense anymore. Around the world, there are millions like Dan who, dissatisfied with their Christian experience, are walking away from church. This book is for those on the edges. The faint. The fallen. The desperate. The doubters. Here is a hopeful story, offering comfort and a fresh vision for a renewed and authentic life of freedom in Christ.

Reflecting On The Word Of The Lord

    $3.99

We Christians live in a rushed and hurried culture which our churches have accepted without thinking through the consequences. It seems that we have allowed ourselves to equate busyness with spirituality and bible study with the loudest opinion in the room.

Reflecting attempts to call us back to a matured time in Christian history when congregants did not read the Bible speedily. One of my high school English teachers used to warn us that just vocalizing words aloud was different than truly reading. This book calls us to read the Scripture, reread the Scripture, think about what we have read, and to meditate on the concepts of a passage following them throughout Scripture. By this means, we should be able to grasp a more complete understanding of the ideas the verses have presented to us.

Moreover, a slower reading and a rereading allows time for the Holy Spirit to speak to us. Often, I hear someone express that as often as they have read a certain passage of Scripture, they did not gain the newest understanding from their latest reading. Why is that?

It is because we have just called words without reflecting on them. Reflecting and meditating are old ways of studying the Word of God. You will be richly blessed by beginning and maintaining the practice. It is indeed food for the hungry Christian’s soul.

Jews, Gentiles and the Church Age: The Jew and Christian Theology

    Price range: $3.99 through $20.99

One of the great tragedies of our time is the lack of understanding on the part of many Christian leaders regarding the roots of the Christian faith and how this affects one’s understanding of theology. Because of this lack of understanding the church has fallen into many heresies down through the centuries. Among other things, it has affected how we view our responsibilities for world c. This book has been written to help the reader understand the roots of our faith in Old Testament Judaism and the effect that understanding has on Christian theology. KENNETH G. SYMES, B.A., S.T.M. was a pastor in Baltimore, MD for almost twenty years before God called him into Jewish ministries in 1977. While in Baltimore he cut his teeth in Evangelism preaching on the streets of East Baltimore. For the past thirty years, while himself effectively reaching people with the Gospel, Ken has worked with local churches to enable them to effectively reach out with the gospel to both Jew and Gentile. This book is the product of his deep love for Jewish people and his commitment to the belief that God ordained only one institution to evangelize His world, the Local Church. After serving almost eleven years as the Executive Director of Jewish Awareness Ministries, Inc., Ken is now the National Field Representative for J.A.M. Inc living in Zephyrhills, FL with his wife Joyce.

    The Blessed Hope

    Price range: $3.99 through $9.99

How one views eschatology, the doctrine of end time events, determines, to a large extent, the rest of one’s theology. Early in my ministry I determined to know the truth of God’s Word. I further determined that the Bible is verbally inerrant. Thus there are no contradictions in it. I came to understand that a true study of God’s Word entailed comparing scripture with scripture. Using that understanding I came to the conclusion that we can know God’s mind with assurance (II Peter 1:19-20). With so much confusion on the matter of the Rapture I decided to search for the truth in this matter. This small book is the result of that long and extended search which I have essentially boiled down to the conclusions. As a right understanding of this issue is important to how we view the rest of doctrine and to the quality of our Christian experience, this book is offered to help and bless the reader in his faith and walk.

Understanding God’s Program for the Ages: A Study of Dispensations and Covenants

    Price range: $3.99 through $20.99

THE PURPOSE of this book is to enable the reader of the Bible to study his Bible with understanding. The Bible is God’s Word. As God is holy and righteous, His word is true without any contradiction. This study is based upon the truth that “we have a more sure word of prophecy” (II Peter 1:19). It is also based upon “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation” (II Peter 1:20). Therefore, we can be assured that we have understood God’s mind when our view of any part of scripture is not contradicted by any other scripture. We have no right to an “interpretation” but we have the privilege of understanding God’s truth shared with His Creation and recorded in the Bible.

The Key to accomplishing this is found in

grasping the truth of God’s plan for the ages

which flows between the truths of Biblical

    Covenants and dispensations.

    God-Moses-Me: Conversation With God

    Price range: $3.99 through $22.99

“The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend” (Exod. 33:11). In the book of Exodus, God provides instructions in the Ten Commandments, sacrifices, the building of the tabernacle, and many other topics. In these conversations, God is giving Moses direction. Moses had forty years in the wilderness speaking with God. Apart from the directives, what might these friendly conversations be? Perhaps they were of a nature similar to those questions and discussions we might have with a friend about our faith. In the years I’ve had reading the Bible and in communion with others, many friends have asked me questions and I’ve asked God many questions as well, such as, “If God were so loving, why does he allow so much suffering in the world?” or “Why do bad things happen to good people?” Rather than search scripture to seek answers, many dismiss the faith. Indeed, we are told that scripture holds the answers to many of our questions but there is no index in the Bible where we can look up our questions. Rather, it is in the study and knowledge of God gained from daily reading and meditation that we can truly find answers.

This book is intended to serve several purposes. The first is to illustrate that truly, the Bible is the source for answers to our questions and to show how it can be used. Secondly, many Christians have little knowledge of the Old Testament so taking the questions from the viewpoint of Moses exposes us to the life at that time but also illustrates the many rich traditions and meanings referenced in the New Testament. Third, Moses is a pillar of the faith and worthy of study on his own because he was a unique and blessed person.

Worship An Awesome Journey of Faith

    Price range: $3.99 through $21.99

Most Christians, when they think about worship, think of it in terms of a particular place with a group of people embodying music, public prayers and preaching. However, the Bible’s definition of worship is far broader. This book was written to assist the reader in understanding the biblical concept of worship and the applications this concept has on one’s daily walk. This study is based upon the Book of Leviticus which is the Jewish book of worship. In the process of this study we develop twelve principles of worship that must be applied in the believer’s life and are essential if he is to truly worship. The purpose of the book is to help the reader to discover that worship is, indeed, an awesome journey of faith.

Living Loved: Recognizing and Responding to God

    Price range: $3.99 through $11.99

Living Loved: Recognizing and Responding to God lets the reader into the private and intimate areas of the author’s heart and mind. Many writers, pastors, or spiritual leaders encourage others to let God into their lives by telling Bible stories, giving snippets of generalized accounts about their own or others’ experiences, and by sharing philosophical viewpoints. Although not a “how-to” book, Living Loved details one person’s coming to live in close, personal friendship with God. Author Laurice Shafer writes for the person who has wondered about someone else’s spiritual life, hoping to find encouragement for their own experience of God. She tells of God’s efforts to bring her into friendship with Him, describing it as it was…defects of character are acknowledged, God’s specific interventions described heart to heart communication between a woman and her God detailed, and healing and growth in human relationships explored. The hope that comes with experiencing God and His power to restore resounds in this book.
