Born in the United States, Allenger developed a lifelong passion for history, mythology, and exploring diverse cultures. After joining the U.S. Army in 1966, he served as an officer in the Transportation Corps, with tours in Okinawa, Vietnam, and Germany. In Vietnam, he led logistics operations supporting the 11th Infantry Brigade, earning a Bronze Star for his service. His military career continued in Germany, where he worked with the 60th Air Defense Artillery and received an Army Commendation Medal.
Allenger’s time in the Army sparked a deep love for travel, and during his off-duty hours, he explored Europe, immersing himself in new experiences. After his service, he transitioned to civilian life as the Transportation Coordinator for the Seattle School District, where he managed complex programs for 31 years until his retirement in 2008.
Following retirement, Allenger fully embraced his passion for writing and history. Inspired by his travels and interests, he authored “Polyxena: A Story of Troy”, a historical fiction novel based on Greek mythology, and Ahuitzotl, which explores Aztec civilization. He also created The Pleasures of Green Lake, a photographic journal of his daily walks. Currently, he is working on Assortments, a collection of short stories inspired by his dreams, and The Mayas: A Private Passion, a personal account of his visits to Mayan archaeological sites.
