“The day people say “yes” to Jesus,
They get the Holy Spirit too.
He stays with believers forever,
Living right inside of you.
Holy Spirit is God,
He is one in three.
God the Father, God the Son,
God the Spirit, now you see”
– an excerpt from the book

Jesus made a promise that the Comforter would come. The Comforter is the Holy Spirit, and He has come. The Holy Spirit is not some invisible force. He is not an event, a presence, or just a heavenly power. The Holy Spirit is not a wind, a cloud, a vapor, rain, a dove, or oil, although all those things have been used to represent Him. The Holy Spirit is not an experience, an encounter, or just power. The Holy Spirit is a person. He is the third person of the triune Godhead, and every single Christian can know Him and be empowered by Him.
As a U.S. Army soldier’s daughter, Dr. Carolyn Duncan Cecil, D.Min., traveled to faraway places and developed a love of world geography. When the family came home to their Virginia farm, she cultivated a love for the good earth and all it could produce. Growing up in the church gave her a love for the Word. After graduating from college, getting married, raising two daughters, and teaching school for 37 years, she retired and turned this love into nine children’s stories and curricula to equip Christians.
The workbook series is called Equipped: Equipping and Empowering Christians and Lay Ministers.
The book “Holy Spirit at Work: For Youth” by Dr. Carolyn Duncan Cecil, D.Min., introduces the Holy Spirit to young believers, emphasizing that the Holy Spirit is a person and the third part of the triune Godhead. It conveys that every Christian can know Him and be empowered by Him. The book aims to introduce young children, middlers, and teens to the Holy Spirit, presenting Him as a friend, teacher, comforter, and guide.
The book clarifies that the Holy Spirit is not merely an invisible force, an event, a presence, or a heavenly power. It emphasizes that while things like wind, clouds, and doves have been used to represent Him, the Holy Spirit is a person. According to the book, every Christian can know Him and be empowered by Him.
From the beginning of creation, the Holy Spirit has actively worked on earth, touching hearts, helping scholars understand the Word, inspiring artists, and stirring writers. The Holy Spirit inspires minstrels to compose new melodies, stirs the psalmist to write songs of praise, and inspires authors to write manuscripts.
The book suggests that believers of any age can be introduced to the Holy Spirit and empowered to positively influence the world. Achieving one’s true destiny is possible through the assistance of the Holy Spirit, and it is beneficial to introduce children and teens to Him early. The book serves as a simple introduction to help everyone understand the Holy Spirit.
This book was written because the Lord Holy Spirit is your friend. Don’t miss out on this relationship just because you cannot see Him.
