A graduate of Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, he received an Associate of Arts degree from Montgomery Junior College in the spring of 1966. Stone has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland University College in 1974.
In 1966, Mr. Stone entered the United States Air Force, where he served as a security policeman, obtaining the rank of sergeant before his honorable discharge in the summer of 1970.
Mr. Stone is a collector of music, enjoys cooking, and writes poetry. Currently, Mr. Stone resides in Montgomery County, where he grew up.
