This is My Song, This is My Story: I’m Not Who I Used To Be

    Price range: $3.99 through $16.99

The powerful, personal story of how a woman whose entire identity was rooted in homosexuality and poverty thinking became transformed and set free into her true identity as a beautiful, strong woman through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

When life turns upside-down, who do you turn to? And when you turn to God, what do you do when His very presence in your life disrupts everything you thought was true about yourself, your relationships, and your sexual identity?

That was the challenging, yet ultimately freeing place that music-lover Terrie Broom found herself facing. With the unexpected, untimely death of her brother due to complications from AIDS, Terrie began seeking answers to her grief…which miraculously led her to an encounter with God.

The only problem? Her long-term, same-sex partner didn’t want to come along on that spiritual journey. Terrie’s entire world suddenly turned upside-down as she lost her beloved home, her pets, many friends, and her income.

Facing grief, loss, a dramatic breakup, financial struggles, and loneliness, Terrie had no choice but to double down on her faith in God, no matter what. With each season, she gained valuable insights into God’s love for her through devotional time, the help of godly people supporting her journey-and music that spoke to her struggles and provided powerful encouragement to continue to walk in faith.

Part memoir, part devotional, part homage to all kinds of music, Terrie’s inspiring, open-hearted, authentic story of change and freedom is a powerful reminder of how God can truly transform anyone and everyone-no matter what you’re going through. You’ll be encouraged to open your life to God’s transforming power, trusting as Terrie did, that all things work for our good-and all for His glory.

    The Impossible Dream

    Price range: $3.99 through $16.99

Racism and healthcare disparities have always been a problem in the black community, especially small country towns. This book illustrates how a poor Black boy at the age of twelve watched his mother almost die from the lack of adequate health care from a White doctor.

I come from a very poor family of eleven children, poor education environment, low self-esteem, and with no Black professionals except for Black teachers to inspire me and other Blacks in the community; but at the age of twelve, I promised my mother that one day I would become a doctor so that Blacks would not have to suffer from the lack of adequate health care. The promise to my mother was “an impossible dream.”

By reading this book, you will learn how the miracles of God navigated my crooked journey and how the impossible was made possible, and I was able to obtain a Bachelor of Science, two years on a PhD program before completing a medical degree. Along with other health care providers, I was able to organize a not-for-profit organization to decrease healthcare disparities in the Black community.

    Following My Dreams

    Price range: $3.99 through $16.99

This is a compelling true story of a young boy born and raised in poverty in Oklahoma. He struggled in school, especially in reading and math. It was his mother who helped him learn reading and math, not his teachers. Fighting in order to protect himself resulted in several “paddling’s” and other disciplinary actions at school. Facing the possibility of being sent to a delinquent home for boys, he devised a plan where he would catch a train going north with King, a dog, who he promised would never be a stray dog again. He had even practiced jumping a boxcar while the train was moving! He would miss his family, but he was not going to the place for delinquent boys. In the fifth grade, with the help of his mother, he started turning things around. He accelerated to the top of his class in all subjects. Not only was he top of his class academically, but also, he burgeoned in sports. He played on the seventh- and eighth-grade basketball and baseball teams when he was only in the fifth grade. He loved reading about medicine, rockets, math, and the universe, among other subjects.

When he told his counselor and teachers that he wanted to become a doctor, he was encouraged to go into something else. Again, it was his mother that encouraged him to follow his dreams. With his poor education, it was doubtful his dreams would come to fruition. Still, he never gave up on his dreams. Through hard work and perseverance, his dreams come true.

    Fresh Angels and Markings

    Price range: $4.99 through $15.99

Miraculous events occur every day in a Christian’s life if they have the “eyes of their heart opened” as St. Paul prayed. Most supernatural events are unseen or not spiritually appraised by the average Christian. But at certain times, God breaks through our rationalizations and unbelief and reveals his Real Presence to us in the the most amazing ways.

This memoir is based on forty-four years of dreams, visions, angels and demons that were manifested to me, my wife Jane, and other family members.

Of course, there were many days and nights when I experienced the “dark night of the soul,” where God seemed distant and my spiritual soul was dry and in need of the water that comes from Jesus. This book was started fifteen years ago but I stopped writing as it was not the time to do it as God had other things for me to learn. Then, in 2011 I had a brain stroke caused by a blood clot. I was not able to work as a teacher for six months and I was left with mild paralysis on my right side. God allowed the stroke to happen but also taught me to be thankful for each day as life itself is a miracle!

My prayer and hope for you is that you would take seriously the bible account of miracles in the four Gospels and in Luke’s account of the early church in the book of Acts in the New Testament.

St. Augustine said it best,”NOVERIM TE, NOVERIM ME.” This translated is, “May I know you, may I know me.” M.S. Lynch

    Preacher’s Kid

    Price range: $3.99 through $14.99

Being a member of a preacher’s family brings on a myriad of expectations. The preacher’s wife must always project an image of being in tune with godliness. That is a learned condition where she walks around with an angelic smile and speaks softly to the congregants and is always available with a sympathetic ear and assurances that she will bring up their concerns to the pastor.

The preacher’s progeny is expected by everyone to be an example that all people can point to as a kid that the congregants can hold up to their normal children to aspire to. This is not only the expectation of the congregants but also of the preacher. Their mother, who did not get the calling, is responsible to see that they live up to their expectations as the preacher is too busy counseling the congregants and their children.

It is expected of a preacher’s kid, that they attend and lead in children and youth groups and that they by example extend the Christian teachings of their father. Also, is expected that a preacher’s kid is not worldly. He or she does not really know what life is all about for those who must struggle in the real world to survive. He or she have never been subjected to the words that get a mule team moving on a cold morning or the vagrancies of a Jersey cow who will only quit kicking at the milk bucket when she is told loudly that she is about to receive a swift kick in the ass with proper invectives. They don’t really know what life is all about and therefore are really not viable functioning people like normal kids are.

Of course, there is the other expectation of the maverick preacher’s kid. He is the kid that gets in trouble just like any normal kid and because he or she does not participate in the ministries to the church is considered a bad seed and unfortunately hinder the ministry of the preacher to his congregants.

The following is the story of a real preacher’s kid and his family from the recollections of a preacher’s kid.
