Just Passing Through: A German-American Family Saga – Revised Edition
$3.99 – $29.99Price range: $3.99 through $29.99In this updated and revised edition of Just Passing Through: A German American Family Saga, first published in 2011, the author tells the story of several generations of his unique but dysfunctional family spanning over a hundred years including the two world wars. Peter Zell was eight years old when World War II ended and in a prologue entitled A German – American Childhood recounts his boyhood experiences that included the apocalyptic firebombing of his hometown of Stuttgart by the western Allies, the postwar occupation of Germany, and his family’s emigration to America. The book centers on the author’s mother, whom her children called Mutti, and her ordeal during the Nazi era for having been married to a Jew, the son of prosperous Frankfurt business owners, with whom she had two children. With anti-Semitism on the rise in Germany, her husband decided to emigrate to America but Mutti chose to remain behind to take care of her ailing father. The couple had an amicable divorce and while her ex-husband
took their son with him, their daughter remained with Mutti in Germany. Under the Nuremberg Laws of 1935, mother and daughter now found themselves classified as non-Aryans which meant that Mutti could not remarry while their teenage daughter, being half Jewish, was put in dire jeopardy of her life. At this point Mutti’s older brother, himself a dedicated National Socialist, proposed an unconventional solution that ensured her survival. Following his advice, Mutti had more children, fathered by so-called Aryans, who were eventually all brought to America. The book follows the lives of the five siblings, all half-brothers and half-sisters, and their difficult relationships with each other as each sought to achieve his or her version of the American Dream.

When God Speaks, Obey!
$3.99 – $9.99Price range: $3.99 through $9.99This is an inspirational book about obeying God when he speaks.
When the Holy Spirit spoke to the Author that this was the last time he was going to be called to repent, the Author obeyed and ask the Lord Jesus to come into the author’s life and take control.
The Holy Spirit told the Author if the Author would stay out of his way, that the Holy Spirit “would make him Chief of Police of Jennings.” One and a half years later the Author was appointed Chief of Police Jennings, Louisiana.
There are some serious things and there are some comical things in the Author’s long career as a law Enforcement officer and his journey from a professing Christian to a born again Christian. They are all captured in this book.

Book of Hard Facts
$3.99 – $17.99Price range: $3.99 through $17.99I was sitting in a waiting room and looked for something to read. There were a couple of children’s books and that was it. I thumbed through them – same books sixty years ago.
I thought I needed to do a children’s book. – A parent could interact with. So, I came up with “Hard Facts.”
It’s compiled of things that mom and dad would tell you not to do, and like most children, it went in one ear and out the other. It was never retained in the brain. So, when your mom and dad weren’t around, you did it.
I talked to the ER nurses, and they gave me actual situations that happened over the years by children that did not listen.
I found an artist and we came up with “Diputs” and reacted out each possible rule ending in possible death.
I showed the book to teachers, police, doctors, and firefighters and got great reviews. Around 80% of “mothers” said it was too graphic for their children.
I went back to the drawing board and tamed it down. Now, about 50% of mothers said to tame it down more. So, it went back to the artist one more time and we decided that it was enough.
It’s not a perfect world and you can’t wrap your children in bubble wrap. Nobody can watch their children 24-7. Kids will be kids, but with “Hard Facts,” you can go page by page with your child and this time it won’t go in one ear and out the other.

Truly Pertinent Questions
$3.99 – $24.99Price range: $3.99 through $24.99Author of three anthologies, In My Heart…On My Mind, The Root of My Affection, and Truly Pertinent Questions, Wayne D. Russell is an educator, researcher, poet, songwriter, and producer. He is known as pragmatist, his brusque yet seductive approach to writing challenges the reader to confront the esoteric.

This author invites the reader on a random walk through their constructed realities and further challenges them to explore its nebulous boundaries. He forces them to grapple with their own imagining; it is this quasi-spiritual exploration that gives credence to his body of work.
Wayne D. Russell is a Mathematics lecturer and researcher at Medgar Evers College, The City University of New York. He has written and presented academic papers, nationally and internationally, bringing innovation to Mathematics learning.
Russell is also the Chief Executive Officer of EduSols LLC, a New York based small business research entity. He is the Executive Director and principal songwriter of LyricSurge Records, a small independent recording label operating out of New York and Ft. Lauderdale.
