Kevin VS The City of Heroes

In a world where heroes and superweapons are as prominent as the concrete they’re living on, a simple reporter takes a job with a sociopathic man with a dream. Getting thrown headfirst into a madness-fueled rampage to take the central city of Megatropolis — where the most powerful of Heroes and Villains alike reside — the reporter is forced to keep up with one of the lowest self-controlled people he’d ever thought he’d meet: The self proclaimed Supervillain Kevin “Motherfucking” Andréson.

With a plan, a group of equally crazy followers, and some extremely intelligent advisors at his back, this is the account of one man’s rise to becoming one of the scariest living things that anything would ever meet, told by a simple and mundane person. Let’s see what’s in store, shall we?

Alex: The Birth of His Revenge

There was a dead body found in a parking lot of a convenience store. It was said to be a gruesome sight to behold. It was so distorted that it wasn’t even recognizable. There was nothing on it that could link it to someone. No identification was left on it. No cell phone or wallet or anything of the sort. It only had some clothes on it that were so torn up and destroyed that they didn’t even look like any clothes anymore. They did not cover anything at all. The only thing covering the body was blood. The man’s own blood. That was oozing from all over his body. Because it was as if someone had tried to skin him alive. Or dead. There were no witnesses to tell what exactly happened.

His face was unrecognizable. His fingerprints were shaved away. There was nothing linking him to his identity. So it had taken a lot of time to even investigate who the victim was, let alone the murderer. An artificial face reconstruction had to be done to know who that was. But even when police had identified the victim, they still had no clue who the killer was. He had left no clue behind. At that moment in time, everyone just wished that he wouldn’t be looking for another victim.

    Dreams That Never Were

On June 5, 1968 Senator Robert F. Kennedy, then a candidate for President, is mortally wounded by assassin Sirhan Sirhan in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. Among the innocent bystanders who were also shot that night is a young idealistic reporter from San Francisco, Alex Hurley. The tragic incident changes his life as he’s swept up in the turbulent events of 1968. Alex is conflicted about the Vietnam War after spending six months there as a reporter. The war costs him his first marriage and threatens to tear his family apart. However, he meets a woman who’s love restores his hope and together they forge a new life set against the backdrop of the war, the civil rights struggle and political upheaval in the San Francisco Bay Area. Alex Hurley’s story is part political thriller and partly a romance in “Dreams That Never Were,” the latest historical fiction novel by award winning author Greg Messel. The title comes from a famous quote of Robert F. Kennedy’s “Some men see things as they are and say, ‘Why?’ I dream of things that never were and say, ‘Why not?'”

The book is based on true events, or maybe fictional events. Some choose to believe, while others don’t. You decide. But rest assured, Satan and evil entities are real. ———–

After I retired from the fire department and first responder, I now write books. I always wanted to write books, but with work and raising a family, writing was on the back burner. This is the second book that I have written. It’s a passion for me, the same passion I had when I was a firefighter. I hope you enjoy reading my books.
