Mental Kidnapping II: God’s Mental Therapy

Steven Treadwell is a noted author and minister chosen by God to encourage, uplift, and motivate those he comes in contact with to read theunadulterated, uncompromising, unchanging Word of God. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, where he graduated from George Washington Carver High. He started to serve God at an early age being baptized at age ten. He sang in the choir at church and in junior high school, high school, and college. He studied sociology and sang in the college choir under Omar Robinson, a music maestro, for a year and a half at Shelby State (now called Southwest Tennessee College. He transferred from Shelby State to Philander Smith in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he continued studying sociology and singing in the choir. His mission has always been to motivate others to share their courage and confidence. He moved to Los Angeles and studied the teachings of Fredrick K. Price at Crenshaw Christian Center, where he began to walk by faith, not by sight, and he was not afraid of what he saw or heard and became very conscious of what he said. He studied real estate briefly at West Los Angeles in Culver City. He was in the city of angels with a devil’s heart and didn’t take that lightly. While working across from CBSon Beverly Blvd and Fairfax, he rubbed shoulders with the stars, who gave him a larger-than-life picture of himself. His job delivering flowers kept him on the scene in LA, and then he moved to Atlanta to attend Rutledge, a small business college. He reached out to save a struggling school but was too late. He returned to Memphis after sharing what he had learned at Crenshaw Christian Center in Atlanta. He studied more and evangelized at Northwest College in Southhaven, Mississippi, the University of Phoenix, Strayer University, and the University of Memphis. He is writing his second book and still providing others a reason to do everything with courage and confidence.

    The Revelation of Why

The Revelation of Why is a self-help book that doesn’t mince the truth of seeking help outside of yourself. Spurred by author Nathaniel Frazier’s life experiences and events, the book seeks to balance one’s “negative and positive character traits.”

Although orthodox in its techniques, the book’s thrust of delving into your own thoughts, and processing them equally, is concise in its direction that is missing from what is offered by the slew of similar literature available.

A dedicated public servant with certification in neuro-linguistic programming, author Nathaniel Frazier posits that balancing one’s negative

and character traits is a way to establish “instant rapport and receive a lift that can help through your day.” He explains further that the equilibrium of

balancing these energies, will attract more like energies, which, in turn could ignite change in one’s resolve.

Perhaps, more importantly, The Revelation of Why aims to help and support in the education and information campaign of what the author describes

to be the “mental warfare” in the minds of millions. This mental warfare is largely seen as indicative of character weakness, but within the book is

unique strength in the form of an accountability chart. The chart is a guide wherein one can examine the areas in life that need improving.

The Revelation of Why is described by the author as containing techniques to recognize mental combat in people. It offers logical and reasonable

techniques to challenge one’s self and others to build rapport, trust, love and understanding.

He shares how two people can grow in Christ together. Caregiving: My Story, Your Guide

This book is about the author’s personal experience as a caregiver, how he became one, everything he learned along the way and what a wonderful life two people can have together regardless of the situation.

The author wants to share what he learned; information from doctors, insurance companies, the pharmaceutical industry, disability claims and a number of other important issues including positive thinking and a happy life. His real life experiences have been “battle” tested in the totality of caregiving.

The information he shares relates to all caregivers and many situations; from diseases, accidental disability and war wounded veterans. He further describes how one caregiver, over a period of 24 years, was able to maneuver across the “battlefield,” still survive and not succumb to battle fatigue.

Someone else’s knowledge about something negative can make things more positive for you…and that is an important part of what this book is about.

Many books out there are a wonderful collection of data compiled from the internet and government sources and provide answers to many issues. This book covers the “must do” items which are based on his experiences that can be used as a reference guide and adapted to your individualized situation. Every patient is different and in order to earn the “Caregiver of the year” award, you must find what works best for them.

The most important issue is to realize that a severely disabled person needs to be treated with respect and dignity. Unfortunately, too many handicapped patients are disposed of like a useless piece of furniture or parked out of sight at some poorly run institution. What would you want to happen to you, should you ever be disabled as a result of an accident or disease?

REMEMBER – it can happen to anyone – anytime, including YOU!

    The Spare: Part 2

Our marriage was given about two weeks to two months to survive. We stood two chances of making it work out-slim and none. But through commitment and stubbornness, we hung in there. The name sumpter is in the dictionary and says “a packhorse,” which I relate to a mule, telling Bill he was stubborn as mule. This book tells a little of the years we live in Rapid City and how we grew. I’m sure there are others that have endured more turmoil and grief, but this is my tale of those formative years of marriage.

    The Spare: Part 1

I was born and raised on a working ranch twenty-eight miles north of Philip, South Dakota. As a young person, we worked hard and played hard, and events that occurred caused considerable pain to me both mentally and physically. My choices were not the best, and at seventeen, I was much on my own. The saying “I was the only hell my mother ever raised” was probably very accurate. I write this to tell what it was like growing up and to let others know their choices are important to their future.
