    The Doors of Deception

There are different doors of deception, and this book will help identify areas where deception may present as “good opportunities”. We prepare the caring and bold hearts to navigate life without being easily deceived. In a world filled with corruption, it is challenging to navigate through the chaos without clear insight from God. Many live in regret, and this guide will help prevent years of bad decisions and a life of error. We share essential keys to discern people, places, and things and help to identify what is most important. Your life is valuable to God, and He has a plan for you, that requires you to walk in your God-Given Identity by clothing yourself in His righteousness. I pray that God will open your spiritual eyes to see the world surrounding you and idle words will not deceive you. “I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the LORD, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel.” Isaiah 45: 3.

Psychological Development of Man As Expressed Through Biblical Themes

In Psychological Development of Man As Expressed through Biblical Themes, author Bonnie L. Norem discusses the development of man on the physical, mental, and spiritual levels. Taking as her premise that major biblical themes describe critical transitions the individual goes through in his or her life’s journey, she compares how biblical themes can be correlated with some aspects of modern psychological theory. Initially concentrating on the development of the individual, she then moves on to the development of a sense of community and mankind’s needs and responsibilities as members of a community. Problems in responding to a sense of wholeness with one’s community include running away from the challenge, and the re-action provoked by suffering. A serious work of psychology and biblical scholarship, Psychological Development of Man As Expressed through Biblical Themes deserves serious attention, adding as it does a depth and resonance to both fields of endeavor.

    The Dark Shines Bright

Human beings fall into three distinct groups. There are those who spend the better part of their life playing by the rules and trying to do good while contributing to the betterment of their fellow humans. There are those who spend the better part of their lives breaking the rules and taking whatever they can from their fellow humans, no matter what the cost. Finally there are those who are neither good or bad human beings. They just live day to day, come what may.

The question is where did the rules come from that define what is good and what is bad?

The only thing for sure is that no matter how a person lives his or her life, everyone has one thing in common. Everyone who is born, one day must die. How did human life begin and what happens after it ends?

“The Dark Shines Bright” answers both questions in a carefully crafted, page turning story.

Through the Lens of Childhood: A Little Girl and A Little Boy’s Story

The book illustrations (i.e., stick figures) was inspired by another book that a friend of mine eventually gave me. I liked the idea of handwritten words, which I think were somewhat inspired by writing in a toy giving personalization. This book is back to basics with no time or commercialism dated as such. A moral lesson, if any, would be that no matter how many representations to people we are, we are the person with a name that defines us.

Heaven on Earth: Living as in the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth

May God be praised. This book is designed by the Holy Spirit to help every born-again Christian acknowledge their citizenship in the kingdom of heaven here on earth. “Thy kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:11). It is unfortunate that many of us live our lives as defeated Christians, failing to experience the victory in Jesus while we are here on earth. The world is filled with chaos and confusion, and truth be told, life can sometimes be very depressing. However, as Christians, we are called to live a victorious life in the Spirit of Christ every day, regardless of the circumstances of the world. Though we may live in the world, we are not of this world; for we belong to the kingdom of heaven on earth through Christ Jesus. I encourage you to read this book and experience the joy of living in the kingdom.

TO THE FAITHLESS AND THE UNBELIEVING BERTRAM GREY

If faith alone can’t be trusted to reveal the truth in something as insignificant as a Ping-Pong ball, then how can it be expected to reveal the truth in something as important and mysterious as The Nature of God Himself?” Bertram asks his uncle, as they stand before a machine designed to “capture faith in a test tube” so that Bertram can study it and try to understand it.

In To The Faithless and The Unbelieving BERTRAM GREY, the author offers a unique blend of fiction and reality as Bertram Grey travels from his hometown of Pietyville, South Carolina: to Jacksonville, Florida: to the rainforests of South America, in search of the elusive answer to the riddle of faith, and the author, who is on a similar quest, journeys to the precipice between life and death, itself, to find a relationship with a God that he can neither see nor hear.

Cowboys and Samurai: Myths and Realities

Myths exist in every society. They can be used for positive purposes, such as solidifying national identity, ensuring political stability and promoting national pride. On the other hand, they can be used for nefarious purposes, such as justifying expansionism at the expense of other nations. When we examine the myths surrounding the cowboys and the samurai, we learn how the myths originated and how they evolved over the years. Comparing the myths with realities, we learn about the conditions and the circumstances involved and we gain an understanding of what the real cowboy and samurai were really like. When you hear the names John Wayne and Roy Rogers, what image of the cowboy do you have? What image of the samurai do you take away when you read the book Shogun or see the movie or the TV series of the same title? These questions are poised and discussed in this book. The book ends with a discussion of the roles played by the cowboy and samurai myths in contemporary America and Japan.

Holy Spirit at Work: For Youth

Jesus made a promise that the comforter would come. The comforter is the Holy Spirit and He has come. The Holy Spirit is not some invisible force. He is not an event, a presence, or just a heavenly power. The Holy Spirit is not a wind, a cloud, a vapor, a rain, a dove, or oil, although all those things have been used to represent Him. The Holy Spirit is not an experience, an encounter, or just power. The Holy Spirit is a person. He is the third person of the triune Godhead, and every single Christian can know Him and be empowered by Him.

From the first days of creation to the answer for the prayer you prayed last night, the Holy Spirit does the work down here on earth. Who touches the heart of the seeker? Who helps the young scholar learn the Word? Who inspires the minstrel to compose a new melody? Who stirs the psalmist to pen a song of praise? Who inspires the author to write the manuscript?

Every believer, no matter what age, can be introduced to the Holy Spirit and be empowered to change the world for good. A person’s true destiny can only be achieved with the assistance of the Holy Spirit. It is never too early to introduce young children, middlers, or teens to the Holy Spirit. This book is a whimsical and simple introduction that everyone can understand. Lord Holy Spirit wants to be your best friend, teacher, comforter, and guide.

Living Life as a Godly Champion

God gave me the concept of “godly champion” several years ago and directed me to write this book. Initially I thought that the motivating factor behind writing this book was to leave a reminder of the many discussions held and lessons taught to my children over the years. However, in time the Lord made it clear to me that this book was also meant to be shared with His chosen people. A champion, as defined by Merriam-Webster dictionary, is “one who shows marked superiority.” As children of the almighty God, we are markedly superior because of the acceptance, belief, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. God repeatedly states throughout the Bible that He would never leave us nor forsake us. God ensures the victory for us in every circumstance, situation, challenge, or obstacle. He works out everything for our good because we love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). This is what we can expect from God in our godly champion partnership. What God expects or demands from us is our love, worship, obedience, trust, and devotion to Him only. Being a champion in any regard requires diligent work. Therefore, godly champions must commit to praying continually, reading and studying the Bible consistently, worshiping Him daily, and trusting and obeying Him always. We as God’s children represent Him every second of the day, whether we are in the confines of our homes or at a public/corporate venue. He expects us to represent Him honorably, diligently, zealously, courageously, and with great swag. That’s right, swag! I wholeheartedly believe God wants us to represent Him proudly with a colorful, spirited style. Although we encounter trials, tribulations, and setbacks, we adapt, adjust, and overcome all obstacles because of the strength and grit afforded to us by the indwelling Holy Spirit. This embodies the persona of a godly champion. We are victorious!

The Power of Prayer is shared throughout the book to demonstrate the change that takes place when Prayer is used as a weapon to break chains and tear down walls of the enemy’s camp when targeting families and their identity.

    Have You Seen My Daddy?

Who is your daddy? If Pastor John R. Peyton was asked this question when he was a boy, he might be ashamed to admit who his daddy was, having grown up in an abusive household with an alcoholic, womanizing father.

However, now as a faithful servant of God and pastor of a loving church, he can now say his true daddy is that of his heavenly Father God.

His new book, Have You Seen My Daddy?, is Pastor John’s detailed life story, beginning with his birth and childhood in Virginia to a strong Christian mother and an abusive, lost father. As he grew up, he witnessed hypocrisy in his home church and racism from other churches, wondering if this Jesus that was spoken of was really someone to be praised and worshipped.

He was soon drafted into the army and traveled to Central America and, all while struggling with his hatred toward white people that intensified through his involvement with the Black Panther Party. It wasn’t until the most unlikely of people witnessed to him of God’s love and Jesus’s sacrifice that Pastor John’s life turned around and because of this he was sent to Vietnam.

As Pastor John moved forward with his life, becoming a husband and father to three daughters, he began to feel God leading him down certain paths where his testimony of God taking away the hate and bringing him peace was impacting people’s lives.

Pastor John, as an agent of reconciliation for God, has been the vessel to change the lives of many, from lost lives in prison ministry to the well-to-do and various races and statuses. The hope is that readers will understand through his life story the need for God in our lives and that change for the better can only happen through Jesus.

Have you seen your Daddy? Because He’s looking for you!
