“Created by extension of Thought
Integral part of the Source
All attributes imbued without exception
Such is the nature of Self.
Same as the Christ
Omniscient, omnipotent, glorious
Unity without fragmentation
That is the Self.”

“Stirrings” by Oguchi H. Nkwocha presents a transcendent and transformative literary work that reads like both a sacred meditation and a powerful call to spiritual liberation. This is not simply a book of poetry or a philosophical trait, it is a soul-stirring exploration of existence, consciousness, and what it truly means to awaken to divine truth.
Written in a lyrical and contemplative style, Stirrings challenges the reader to look beyond the constructs of religion, materialism, and ego, and instead delve into the eternal Self that lies beyond illusion. With each passage, Nkwocha’s voice becomes a guide—gently dismantling the veil of false identity and inviting the reader to remember who and what they really are: an inseparable extension of the Divine.
OGUCHI H. NKWOCHA, M.D., was born in Nigeria and also spent much of his adolescence there, attending high school. He would later move to the U.S. and attend college, earning a B.S. degree in pharmacy from Idaho State University. His schooling continued as he later earned an M.D. degree from College of Medicine at the University of Utah. Now a Physician for almost twenty years, the author and his wife Gail reside on the coast of California with Allison Ijeoma and Erica Chioma, their daughters.
Although he was brought up in a heavily Christian Environment, Dr. Nkwocha has consciously accepted eclecticism because of the inconsistencies and stifling doctrines of the various religious institutions. He does not identify himself with any religion or denomination.
The book unfolds as a series of poetic reflections, essays, and spiritual revelations that defy categorization. While there is no single narrative or storyline, each entry builds upon the last, leading the reader through a process of unlearning the world’s lies and returning to the core of spiritual truth. Nkwocha draws upon metaphysical insight, philosophical reasoning, and intuitive awareness to speak directly to the reader’s innermost being. He writes of illusion and awakening, time and timelessness, ego and the eternal “I Am.” Throughout the text, there is a recurring emphasis on spiritual identity—not as something to be found outside oneself, but as something remembered, reclaimed, and realized within. The effect is both cleansing and uplifting. This is a book that does not merely inform—it transforms.
What makes Stirrings such a compelling and important read is its timeless message, delivered with poetic grace and fearless insight. It does not promise quick answers or easy spiritual comfort. Instead, it offers something more enduring: truth. For those who have long felt the discontent of surface-level living, or who have sensed that religion alone cannot answer the soul’s deepest questions, this book is a revelation. It speaks not only to the intellect, but to the heart and spirit. Its tone is at once tender and unyielding—beckoning readers to go deeper, to stay longer, to question everything they’ve been taught until they come face-to-face with the divine spark within.
In a world burdened by noise, division, and confusion, Stirrings is a quiet revolution—a whispered invitation to remember. To remember that you are not your body, your thoughts, or your past. You are the light, the love, the eternal echo of God’s own voice. And through these pages, that voice is speaking once again.
