ARPress

With just two days until FIL Guadalajara 2025 kicks off, it’s time to shift into planning mode. Whether you’re an author, a publisher, or a passionate reader, knowing what to prepare will help you make the most of this powerhouse of a book fair.

ARPress is honored to join this vibrant international environment in 2025. We will bring a curated selection of our most compelling titles; spanning fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and diverse voices, reflecting our commitment to literary innovation, cultural exchange, and stories that resonate with readers across borders.

Participating in FIL marks a significant milestone in our global outreach efforts. It offers ARPress the opportunity to build stronger relationships in the Latin American and Spanish-speaking markets, explore new rights and licensing partnerships, and engage with one of the most enthusiastic reading communities in the world. The fair’s emphasis on international collaboration, creativity, and cultural dialogue aligns seamlessly with our mission to champion bold, original storytelling.

Authors and Publishing Professionals: This isn’t just about exhibiting—it’s about positioning yourself in the global Spanish-language literary market. Prepare your catalog, bring business cards, and fine-tune your pitch. Make sure you attend the rights and licensing areas of the fair; FIL’s professional section (December 1–3) is when serious deal-making happens. If you’re part of a publishing house, use the FIL catalog tool to list your titles. And remember: the back-of-house logistics matter, too. FIL offers a free Books Warehouse for exhibitors to store their stock during the fair.

Visitors and Book Lovers: Think about what you want to achieve. Are you there for the shopping, the talks, or the cultural exchange? Look through the FIL schedule and map out must-see panels and book launches. The general public has different access hours than industry professionals, so double check the fair times: for example, from November 29–30 and December 4–7, the fair runs from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM; on professional days (Dec 1–3), the general public comes in later. On December 5, there’s even a “night sale” — opening until 11:00 PM.

Families and Educators: Don’t miss FIL Niños, the dedicated children’s area that offers creative workshops, reading corners, and interactive storytelling experiences. Bring children, teachers, or anyone who wants to spark a love for reading in young minds. It’s worth buying tickets in advance because early attendance can mean better access to popular workshops.

Logistics & Comfort: Wear comfortable shoes. Expo Guadalajara is large and full of booths, meaning long walks. Bring a tote or backpack, ideally one that can carry all the books and swag you’ll pick up. Keep your phone charged—you’ll want to use the FIL catalog digitally, take photos, and follow the fair’s live programming.

Networking Mindset: One of the most valuable aspects of FIL is the connections. For those in publishing, come ready to explore collaborations, translations, or agent relationships. For readers, strike up conversations with authors, librarians, and other attendees—you never know what insight or book recommendation you might gain.

In two days, FIL will open its doors wide. Be ready not just to attend, but to engage, discover, and build.
