Dr. Sessoms has had a long, distinguished career in education. He received a PhD from Cornell University in 1975 in Curriculum 7 Design and Educational Psychology. Prior to that, he received his MA from California Lutheran College in Education and his BA from Kentucky State University. Since receiving his degree from Cornell, Dr. Sessoms completed post-doctoral work at the University of Washington in Seattle. His focus was on cognitive learning style.
Dr. Isaiah Sessoms is a distinguished educator, researcher, and advocate for culturally responsive teaching. With decades of experience in cognitive development, he has dedicated his career to addressing educational inequities faced by minority students.
