Dr. Tyree Robinson
Dr. Tyree Robinson was born and raised in a poor family in San Francisco, California, in an extremely dangerous area of the city. He was raised in low income housing by his single (widowed) mother with his two sisters. A published author, educator, conference presenter and public speaker, he volunteers much of his time, talents and resources to ensure that attending college is an opportunity for young people. He founded a 501(c)3 non-profit organization called Success Against All Odds, Inc., which provides college preparatory skills to students and families. Two scholarships have been created in honor of two of his sheroes who have passed away, his paternal grandmother, the late Mother Hattie B. Benson, and his eldest sister, the late Yemisi S. Robinson. Dr. Robinson mentors within the impoverished community in which he was raised, supports his alma mater, The University of San Francisco, as a graduate student mentor and president of Phi Delta Kappa, and serves on the board of directors for the Black Alumni Society.
